How it Works: Web Development Process

1. Initial Proposal

I will start by meeting with you to learn more about your business, your goals for the website, and your budget. I will then develop an initial proposal that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and cost of the project.

2. Further Proposal Revisions

Once you have reviewed the initial proposal, we can work together to make any necessary revisions. I want to make sure that the proposal is a perfect fit for your needs and budget.

3. Initial Milestone Payment

Once you have approved the proposal, I will require an initial milestone payment to get started on the project. I typically divide projects into three (3) milestones.

4. New Project Questionnaire

I will send you a new project questionnaire to gather more detailed information about your website and branding requirements. This includes things like your target audience, website content, and desired functionality.

5. General Web Development Contract

I will then draft a general web development contract that outlines the terms of our engagement. This includes things like the scope of work, timeline, payment schedule, and dispute resolution process.

6. Detailed Project Management Plan

I will develop a detailed project management plan that outlines all of the tasks involved in building your website, as well as the estimated time and cost for each task.

7. Creative Brief

I will work with you to create a creative brief that outlines your vision for the website. This includes things like the overall look and feel, desired branding, and specific features and functionality.

8. Brand Style Guide

If you have a brand style guide, please provide it to me so that I can ensure your website is consistent with your overall branding. If you don't have one, I'm happy to create one for you at no additional charge. I can also create a logo for you, if needed.

9. Shared Cloud Folder

I will create a shared cloud folder where I can share all of the assets related to your website, such as images, videos, and documents. You can access this folder 24/7 to upload and download files.

10. Progress Charts

I provide a live progress charts dashboard that keeps track of the project and updates as I check off items from an extensive and rigorous checklist. You can see the progress of your project at any time, so you can always be sure that we are on track.

11. Communication

I am readily available to communicate by phone, messaging, email, conferencing, and more. I am also happy to shift my schedule to your time zone for your convenience.

12. Feedback

I regularly request feedback from my clients and address all concerns promptly. I believe that feedback is essential to ensuring that I am meeting the client's needs and delivering a high-quality product.

13. Revisions

I offer two revisions for each milestone. This allows me to work with you to make sure that you are happy with the progress of the project before moving on to the next milestone.

14. Scope of Work

I understand that things change, so I am flexible and adaptable with my project management process. If you need to make a change to the scope of work, I'll work with you to assess the impact of the change and develop a revised timeline and budget.

15. Launch

I follow best practices when launching websites. This includes things like:

Testing the website on all major browsers and devices

Submitting the website to search engines

Providing the client with training on how to use and manage the website or app

16. Support

I offer one month of dedicated support after the website is launched. This includes things like fixing bugs, answering questions, and making minor updates. I also offer additional support options on a paid basis.

Once I have all of the necessary information, I will begin the development process. I will keep you updated on our progress throughout the project and I will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Once the website is complete, I will conduct a thorough testing process to ensure that it is working properly. I will also provide you with training on how to use and manage the website.
